VP Java Software Engineer - Index Research at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (London, UK)

This exciting role is part of JPMorgan's Index Research Technology team and you will be a key team member in application design, development and support for all internal/external clients. In this role you will work closely with one of the best development teams, be empowered and accountable for building mission-critical solutions used by the business on a day-to-day basis to generate revenue for the firm. This includes new business product development, strategic cloud migration for our system and components, transformation of existing system to modern frameworks and technologies through CI/CD processes, as well as large-scale data platforms built on J2EE technologies. You will have an opportunity to show your engineering talent, creative thinking, and leadership skills to drive key development projects from initiation through to delivery. You will also have an opportunity to experiment with new technologies, and execute on the firm's Cloud adoption strategy.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities you will need to demonstrate in your day-to-day job:
* Index, Portfolio Analytics or Fixed Income Securities domain knowledge
* Extensive Core Java/J2EE and Spring framework experience
* Track record of delivering solutions to complex problems
* Python experience
* Excellent SQL and Database design
* Object-oriented design and coding practices / Design Patterns
* Extensive experience on application development in financial institutions
* Unix scripting experience
* Excellent problem solving / investigation abilities
* Excellent communication skills
* Good project and time-management skills

The following qualifications would also be of great value:
* Knowledge of Microservices and Big Data technologies
* Certification in Cloud-based technologies, Cloud adoption experience
* HTML5/ReactJS, extensive experience in modern, Agile-driven Web UI development
* M.S degree in Computer Science or related field
