Lower Saxony’s OER portal twillo.de is a platform for the provision and re-use of high-quality open teaching and learning materials (Open Educational Resources, OER for short) for lecturers in the tertiary education sector. The German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) is developing the portal as part of a four-year project, funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK), and is also operating the portal in the long term beyond the project period.
Within the framework of this project, the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology – is looking to employ an
Open Source Software Engineer (m/f/d)
to build up and further develop the portal at the earliest possible opportunity.
The position is initially limited until 31st July 2023 with envisioned extension. The regular weekly working time is 39.8 hours (full-time). The position is generally suitable for part-time work. Depending on your qualification (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree), you will be classified in either pay scale group 12 or 13 TV-L.

Your profile
You are equally experienced in frontend and backend development. Your expertise is rooted in web software engineering, but you are also familiar with API design and databases. You should be able to think creatively, grasp new knowledge quickly, be able to design and develop innovative software systems and be interested in mastering complex challenges.
