About us: Electrum is looking for an experienced and proficient DevOps Engineer Team Lead.

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Team Lead to join our team and take charge of our systems and infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our systems are designed, implemented, and maintained in a way that is scalable, secure, and highly available. The candidate should be a technical expert in DevOps tools and processes and be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.

The ideal candidate has proven capabilities and experience in risk-taking, is willing to take up challenges, and is a strong believer in efficiency and innovation with exceptional communication and documentation skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement systems that can scale to meet the demands of our growing company
  • Deploy load balancers, auto-scaling groups, and other tools to ensure that our infrastructure can handle increasing traffic and workloads
  • Implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures to protect against cyber attacks
  • You should be able to identify problems and design solutions to complex technical issues. You should be able to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to improve the DevOps process
  • Ensure that our data is encrypted and stored securely and that access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Implement redundancy and failover mechanisms, such as load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery plans, to ensure the high availability of our systems
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the company, such as developers, product managers, and executives, to ensure alignment on company goals and priorities
  • Lead a team of DevOps engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the DevOps processes and tools in support of our development teams
  • Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and assign projects
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure the smooth delivery of services and timely resolution of issues
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and ensure that DevOps services meet those requirements

Major focus on

Scalability: You will need to design and implement systems that can scale to meet the demands of the company's growth. This will  involve working with cloud-based services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as deploying load balancers, auto-scaling groups, and other tools that can help ensure that the company's infrastructure can handle increasing traffic and workloads.


Security: You will be responsible for ensuring that the company's systems and infrastructure are secure and protected from external threats. This may involve implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures to protect against cyber attacks. You will also need to ensure that the company's data is encrypted and stored securely, and that access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel only.


High Availability: You will need to ensure that the company's systems are highly available and can continue to operate even in the event of system failures or downtime. This may involve implementing redundancy and failover mechanisms, such as load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery plans.




Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience on AWS cloud platform
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Datadog, or Grafana
  • Experience with DevOps tools and processes such as Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Deep understanding of scalability, security, and high availability concepts
  • Should be an opensource advocate 
  • Proven experience as a DevOps team lead for minimum 3 years
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and coach team members
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
