Where you will fit in:
As a Senior User Experience and User-Interface Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering user-centered designs that are intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible to a broad range of users for two suites of products within Holo and Holochain. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure our user experience is at the forefront of everything we do. You will be responsible for thinking outside the box to address the needs of innovative peer-to-peer technology that has fundamental differences from well-understood platform-based applications. Our aim is to fully meet the needs of users to foster smooth adoption for these new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of the Holo and Holochain products and tools, including designing and implementing the user experience and user interface for new features and updates.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define user stories, user journeys, and product requirements, as well as ensure that designs are technically feasible and are optimized for development.
- Give input into and occasionally run usability testing.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts and specifications to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are implemented to meet high standards and user needs.
- Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to other designers and developers.
- Help develop and maintain a design system that ensures consistency across the platform.
- Advocate for user-centered design practices and help to build a design culture within the organization.
Typical Tasks:
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts and specifications to stakeholders.
- Support creation of user stories, user journeys, and product requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are implemented to meet high standards and user needs.
- Create and maintain design documentation and style guides for the marketing team.
- Work with marketing teams to create visual designs for marketing materials.
Needed Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design for complex web applications, including cloud-based platforms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX, interaction, and visual design.
- Proficiency in user-centered design practices and methodologies.
- Experience with designing for cloud-based platforms and mobile applications.
- Strong skills in design tools: Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite among others.
- Prefer experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones..
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
Desired Capacities:
- Passion for creating user-centered design solutions.
- Ability to think strategically about user needs and product goals.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies and preference for experience with decentralized platforms.
- Experience with accessibility standards and designing for inclusivity.
- Good graphic design skills and experience designing within brand guidelines or expanding effectiveness of a brand.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
- Experience working in a startup environment.
