DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Work with business end users to understand business needs and propose technical solutions to address these needs. Develop business understanding to provide future context for better data processing and reusability. Develop both online real-time and batch-oriented financial software applications using best practices, utilizing best of breed technologies, and considering application security. Design objects and data structures that best model the real-life business structure. Analyze existing both online real-time and batch oriented financial applications and propose improvements in terms of performance, security, and monitoring. Refactor existing code to improve maintainability and improve runtime performance. Analyze application security and correct security vulnerabilities as per accepted industry standards. Write unit tests and develop automated tests. Practice Agile/Scrum methodologies. Troubleshoot issues in production and provide Level 3 support. Perform timely escalation of critical production incidents and proactively identify patterns of recurring incidents to improve service stability. Partner with production support team to implement software solutions. Maintain system documentation to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning amongst team. Mentor junior developers on best coding practices. Work with other developers on the team, brainstorming design ideas, reviewing code and agreeing on software solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Computer Science, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Java Consultant, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Writing application code in JAVA, J2EE, Java Persistence Application Programming Interface, Servlet, and JSP; Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Struts, Hibernate, Web Services, Bootstrap, and Log4j; Writing front end applications in AngularJS, Angular, PrimeNG, NodeJS, Typescript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML; Building and deploying applications using Maven, Git, and TortoiseSVN; Writing applications and performing ad-hoc queries using Oracle Relational Database Management System and PL/SQL.
