S Group’s vision is to offer unparalleled benefits and convenience from your own store. And what would be more convenient than doing your grocery shopping location-independently on-the-go with your mobile device? That’s why we are developing the mobile application of S-kaupat, by which you can do your grocery shopping from anywhere, anytime. At the moment we have the s-kaupat.fi website in beta and now we are looking for someone to develop backend APIs for the upcoming mobile application.
About the role
As a Senior Backend Engineer of S-kaupat.fi you will be part of the mobile squad. We want the mobile squad to be self-sufficient, and that’s why we are looking for a software development professional to create APIs for the S-kaupat mobile application. Even though the browser version is in production at the moment we are transferring towards mobile-first approach, which means the need for APIs will expand in the future. This is an essential role when creating new solutions for grocery eCommerce!
Tech-wise we are quite modern; the backend of the solution relies on TypeScript, AWS Lambdas, DynamoDB and event-driven architecture (such as DynamoDB Streams, Amazon SQS and Kafka). APIs are written with GraphQL and the application itself with React Native. You will be working in cooperation with other mobile and backend engineers, design and QA professionals
What we hope from you
To succeed and flourish in this role, you most probably have:
Solid background in backend and API development
Familiarity with technologies such as TypeScript and GraphQL
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, serverless computing and event-driven architecture
Ability and willingness to work in a team
In work-related matters you communicate fluently in English
Experience with mobile and React Native development is a plus
