Job Description

In the role of Java Software Engineer you will be part of a feature scrum team responsible for delivering the solutions contributing to wealth planning platform.
Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development and testing will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Build back-end components, microservices, data models
Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues
Designing solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
Participate in all scrum team ceremonies and work closely with peers to achieve continuous improvement
Participate in grooming/design forums to provide recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; provide input to information/data flow and understand and comply with architectural standards in all phases
Involvement in the full delivery lifecycle - the development team is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, deploying (including to production).
Active involvement in supporting the platform across all environments, including production in a devops model.
Have a keen focus on development modernization by embracing latest technologies and practices and taking initiative to research and learn.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in Java Application Development.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field (or an equivalent hands on work experience) or the foreign equivalent.
Application Development using Java, JEE, Sprint Boot, JPA, JSON, REST, SQL
Hands on experience building Micro-services
Unit testing / testing frameworks with an understanding of Junit, Mockito, Cucumber would be beneficial
Familiarity with Maven build/deployment process
Strong understanding of object oriented programming and design patterns
Strong technical, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
Familiarity with Source Code management using Bitbucket,
Familiarity with JIRA to plan, track, and manage the software development
Experience working on Agile methodology of software development, delivery and support
Familiarity with CI (using tools like Jenkins) and automated deployment.
Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
Exposure to cloud technologies/platforms like AWS, PCF or, experience in building and deploying services in the cloud using platforms like PCF would be beneficial
Experience with continuous delivery or continuous deployment
