You should be a self-starter with high motivation and will be a core member of the Energy Data team. You will be responsible for developing the company’s competence in energy data collection, maintenance, and delivery to customers through our extensive suite of SaaS products. Our products support companies engaged in power and natural gas markets on 6 continents. Our customers are industry leaders in supply, transportation, delivery, operations and trading and our products allow our customers to deliver their optimal solution. Our data are sourced from hundreds of websites in many languages and your job is to ensure that we collect that data on time, ensure that the data are accurate and that we get clean data into the hands of our customers as soon as possible. You will use your creativity, pattern recognition skills, programming skills and statistical modelling techniques to accomplish this goal. Learnings out of this role will build foundation of skills necessary to advance to roles such as Energy Market Analyst or Data Scientist.
Education/Qualifications & Experience
· Masters/Post Graduate Diploma in Data Analytics/AI/ML/ Data Science with Bachelors/Masters in Energy/Energy Management /Electrical Engg/Power System/Oil and Gas Management/Petroleum/Geophysics & Other Energy Industry related degrees would be preferred OR
Masters/Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Statistics/Mathematics/Energy /Energy Management /Electrical Engg/Power System/Oil and Gas Management/Petroleum/Geophysics/ any engineering streams
· 1-3 years of experience with SQL & Python/R along with exposure of Data Analysis /Data Processing/Data Manipulation/Data Engineering/Statistical & ML modelling techniques/Data Automation/Data Scraping
Essential/Necessary Skills
· Keen interest in the energy industry
· Strong proficiency with the Microsoft suite (Especially MS Excel)
· Exposure to data handling and processing with coding skills with SQL, Python/R, or other statistical and database languages are required
· Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
· Strong drive for results. You have a proven record of shepherding experiments to create successful shipping products/services.
· Experience with Statistical/ML modelling techniques
· Knowledge of Energy Industry/Electricity Markets
· Knowledge of Timeseries Forecasting
· Knowledge of Pattern Recognition & anomaly detections in datasets
Duties and Responsibilities
· Own responsibility for a specific set of data through its life cycle
· Create and improve processes for data collection, quality control, and process monitoring through proofs, test cases, dashboards, and other innovations
· Support and educate clients in your area of expertise to maximize product value in their organization
· Primary industry research to maintain clean. accurate and develop your energy market expertise
· Use statistical /ML modelling/Data processing methods to analyze data and generate useful insights/reports
· Identify gaps in the datasets, clean the datasets and make them universally accessible to our teams in EE and customers
· Work on listed Business Problems/Use Cases -
1. Preparing and maintaining clean datasets for global energy markets to be used by EE customers
2. Build statistical/ML models to recognize patterns/ identify anomalies
3. Build statistical prediction/timeseries forecasting models
